Yahoo Pipes Vs Google Mashup Editor
Finally I made time to try both Yahoo Pipes and Google Mashup Editor(GME). Both the things are cool in their own way, but Yahoo Pipes are for Laymen, anyone who are familiar with feeds(atleast if they know how to use that), they can easily work with Pipes, but this is not the case for GME, one should know XML to build mashups. So from a programmer’s perspective, GME sounds better, but Pipes had made it easy go. And Yahoo Pipes is a hit when compared to GME, because of its GUI, which has a higher reachability level.
So many tutorials are out there in the net for this, infact both of these services have their own tutorial, yahoo here again comes up with a video tutorial, which is good enough to get started.
Pipes has some limitations, you cant think out of the box, you are allowed to play around only with pre-defined options, as GME is code based, you dont have this limitation, which makes GME more flexible. May be some IDE will helpĀ GME more successful. We have Microsoft Popfly another equivalent, but its still in alpha, lets wait and see what’s Microsoft answer for these.
Ready to Strip of your CSS : CSS Naked Day
I came across this event through Varun, but unfortunately I couldnt strip of my site, becasue wordpress doesnt allow access to CSS. It was interesting to see sites without CSS. I think this is one way where we can really experience the power of CSS( and hopefuly write proper CSS).
What is this all about?
CSS Naked Day’07 is celebrated to as an event to promote Web Standards. Plain and simple.
This includes proper use of (x)html, semantic markup, a good hierarchy structure,
and of course, a good ‘ol play on words. It’s time to show off your <body>.
Anyone can Participate, just fill in the signup form given in that site, then your site will be included in the list given. Then on April 5th, simply remove all CSS from your website,
stripping it entirely of its design.
They have given some tools for that( I guess a real task is to get a tool to write CSS, real AI rite?).
I dont know how much the concept will reach people, but it is a interesting way to do something.

My First run of Adobe Apollo
Adobe Apollo Alpha was launched, I tried it today, the apps are pretty cool. Apollo is the code name for a cross-operating system runtime being
developed by Adobe that allows developers to leverage their existing
web development skills (Flash, Flex, HTML, JavaScript, Ajax) to build
and deploy rich Internet applications (RIAs) to the desktop.
ADOBE says that this alpha version of the Apollo runtime provides developers with the
opportunity to begin building applications for Apollo. Future releases
will provide more stability, more desktop integration, and enhanced
support for Ajax developers. Still its in Alpha stage, so most of the features are not fully developed.
I tried some of the Apps
Fresh.air
Maptacular.air
Scout.air
Lookup.air
PixelPerfect.air
ScreenPlay.air
But somewhat i feel like using enhanced version of Web Developer tool bar. All the functionalities are pretty similar. Pixel perfect and Scout are similar to that of the WEB toolbar. The thing it is highly Ajaxified and Adobe did its own touch. All the apps are lovely. Must Try…

Even TRAFFIC makes Browsers work differently
Thanks Eyal !
In my previous post regarding go2web20.net , I have mentioned that IE 7 was not supporting Go2web20, but that was a misconception, it was due to the server load. It is working fine now, but what i wonder is, how come server load can affect the features of a Site? Some features like rollover was proper, only on click functionality failed, but how is that possible, still am confused.
Anyways its working well now, kool… The new design is really kool, i really love it. Goow work Eyal. Get Going.
VistaFei Import Error in GWT
Wirelexsoft’s Vistafei throws one peculiar error, that it couldnt resolve java.io.*
I encountered this error, when I was working with one GWT application in VistaFei, I imported java.io file for a simple file declaration, it says it couldnt resolve that, the same thing happened when i tried implementing try, catch block. It throws an error saying,
“type e couldnt be resolved “
Is this becasue of any serious VistaFei Bug? Can anyone Help me out?
ASP.NET AJAX Rocks : I tried My First application
Today ASP.NET AJAX 1.0 was released, I couldnt stop myself from doing a sample application in that, I started, I installed all the necessary stuff and began my journey. Believe it or not, its so dammmm easy to creat AJAX application in ASP.NET, am sure that this will be a BIG success.I dont want to start with “Hello World Application” I want to try something different, So I did a calendar application which also contains a timer kinda thing. It hardly took 5 mins, but to catch up with initial set up and to know how to do, took some time. Am very confident that Microsoft will regain its position with this, I am currently working on AJAX in java, wiht GWT, when compared to ASP.NET AJAX, java is a real pain. You gota do everything in java.
ASP.NET AJAX is no exception to Microsoft Product it is very very simple , and the same Drag & Drop features. Its kool.I cant stop myself from working on that. Here is my first app
