How often do you thing the satellite images of our earth which are provided by Google and Wiki Mapia are updated? If you say every 15 days, then you have to brush up a lot.

Recently i noticed this when i was browsing thru wikimapia, i was looking for kathipara flyover. First phase of construction got over some 2 months back and the current map shows a appox. 5 months old snap. Does this happen only for Indian Maps? or it is the same throughout the world?

Safari has one feature will allow you to make the browser behave like any other user-agents(IE, FF, Opera etc). This is done be changing the User Agent in the develop menu.
Develop -> User Agent, if you dont find this DEVELOP menu item in the menu bar, click on Edit->Preferences and add this.

Once i faced a cross browser issue in IE, for one of our applications, i did a fix and it worked well in IE, but when i changed the user agent in Safari to IE, the fix failed. Then rose a situation, where it became essential for me to handle this separately(Safari with USER agent as IE). I noticed a peculiar rather interesting thing, in dojo, there is a statement dojo.render.html.mozilla or dojo.render.html.safari will return a boolean in normal scenario whereas in Safari-User Agent, it will return a array of objects, so with that we conditionally detected the actual browser and made the fix.

This was one bugging thing about the Safari -User Agent, but there is a interesting thing about this, which will fetch you free stuff, read your favorite magazines online. You want to know how? check this here.

Before starting my post, for those who wonder what does T51 is : It is a MTC bus route between Thiruvanmyur and Tambaram.

Today i took T51 to office instead of bike, i had to wait for 10-15 min, early morning T51 will be super crowded. Somehow i got one bus and got a seat too. I had my book and mp3 player ready to keep myself occupied for that 40 min of travel, normally i prefer reading when i travel, rather than watching out and moreover i have been traveling in this route for more than 3 years, so nothing interesting or new.

One of the best marketing strategies that these MTC conductors use is, when the bus comes to the bus stand, though they know that they will depart after 15 min, they will cleverly issue the tickets, after issuing they will go for a tea because they dont want to lose the passengers to nearby bus which is starting or any share auto. Once you buy your ticket, you will hardly chose another mode/bus.  This is kinda pricking, but still it is their bread and butter.

Then the bus started, one cotton-candy wala came running with full of panju-mittai(cotton-candy) packets in his hand, holding it up his head. Everyone started yelling at him, but just walked towards driver’s place as ganguly walks to the pavillion after a duck without even showing any expressions. He went to the driver’s place and with one innocent face he looked at the driver, then he started tying his packets to the top holding bar in the bus, good enough to hid driver’s rear view through the center mirror. Then he started walking towards the conductor for getting tickets. They way he tied the packets was like someone celebrating bus day and pink candy added beauty to the bus, i thought i would click it, but i know only people’s head will be prominent in the photo, so i left it. Slowly the bus started and the driver started playing with the candy packets as when he changes the gear. One guy accidentally caught hold of one of the packets for balance and the the candy packet burster with a loud noise, loud enough to make the conductor ask the driver “enna pa tyre putukucha” . Everyone near that started laughing. Some times you get to see some funny characters like this. Recently i saw one guy, actually he was beggar and very funny, you just cant stop yourself from laughing if you watch him for 5 mins, he talks as if he rules the world, as if all the major decision including cauvery river issue are taken by him, that is how some guys talk, mostly you can find these kind of people in street corners etc. But there will be very hard to digest story behind everyone of them.

Coming in MTC is really a good experience, right from my college days, it has given so much to me. It was a nostalgic today, which made me smile from heart

I aint writing this for the slap which turned the heat on or for any other verbal quarrels that keeps happening in every other over in IPL. My concern is this, are we made fools? Remember WWE, previously WWF(when I use to watch), when i was a kid, i use to think those fights are real, not only me every other kid does and even now this gen kids are crazy about it as we were. Even after public concerns, this program is still getting telecasted and let us not get into the TRP and politics behind it.

WWE is something like a cinema stunt, thou it look real, it isnt and the only thing  we can appreciate is that, all those stunts are performed real time. The way WWE is marketed is awesome, with small stories and myths spun up, with little fights and deals between fighters,  to quote a few(these were the myths that existed when i use to watch )

1. Undertaker’s soul/life is inside a small golden pot, whereas that of I.R.S is inside his briefcase
2. Hitman poisoned yokosuna
3. Hulkogan is electric man

And so many i remember, then the concept of BELT, where a fighter will cross all the rounds and he will win in the final to get that belt just to get hit on his head and the belt will be stolen and guy who stole the belt is the champion, nevermind how he got it. Like this there were so many little things which kept WWE going.

Pitching back to our topic, Is IPL becoming a WWE?

1. BCCI has a agreement with the advertisers that if the second innings doesnt last for more than X overs, then some amount of money will be returned back. You may notice that in most of the matches, irrespective of the first innings score almost the second innings lasts till 17-18 overs.
2. If BCCI, is the power of authority then why there is a mixed dress code rule for Cheer leaders and very easily they point their finger to the politicians and other NGOs. If a code of conduct is raised and if it is accepted, then it should be implemented on the whole system. Isnt?
3. Everything moves around sponsors and media, are we loosing the quality of the Game?
4. So many controversies keeps raising and media keeps kindling the flame, Shane warne raised a complaint against Ganguly for being late to the ground and making RR team waiting at the crease. When Warne came late for the toss with CSK, thou Dhoni didnt mind anything about that, both Dhoni and Warne was questioned be the press about this incident quoting the one with Ganguly. One good thing that Dhoni did was, he replied that it doesnt bother him. Otherwise this would have grown into a big issue. why is media waiting for an issue, if they couldn’t get any, they are trying to create one.

Everything seems to be politics, will IPL spoil the quality of the cricket? I think it already did.
